The Wiltern
Legendary rock bands are a rare commodity these days, but thankfully, the progressive powerhouse from London, Yes, is still around. The band may have emerged as early as 1968, but they are still going strong and delivering some of the world’s most epic rock shows. When it comes to Yes’ work and live sets, the band is completely unprecedented in terms of on-stage energy and musicianship. They are one of the most prolific pioneers of progressive rock, after all, and it will always be a privilege to see them perform on stage!
This 2023, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are set to deliver a healthy combination of new and old hits. Yes, the band is still belting out new music five decades into their career. They are also continuing to embark on massive tours and entertain fans all over the world. With five decades worth of incredible music, one can only imagine what the set on Monday 30th October, 2023 at the Wiltern will be like. But their recent outing, Close to the Edge 50th Anniversary tour belted out amazing staples, such as “Roundabout. “Yours is No Disgrace,” “And You and I,” and “Heart of the Sunrise,” among others. Apart from original music, the setlist also contained some exciting covers.
Since the band just recently dropped their new album, Mirror to the Sky, attendees of the upcoming fall tour will be one of the first ones to experience Yes’ new songs. Mirror to the Sky spawned several critically-acclaimed singles, “Cut from the Stars,” “All Connected,” Circles of Time,” “Living Out Their Dream,” and many more. Upon its release, the album peaked at number 4 on the U.K.’s Rock & Metal Albums chart and also entered two U.S. Billboard charts.
Last year, Yes started their shows with an Alan White tribute video. The legendary drummer spent five decades of his life performing with the band. He’s also recorded to be the longest-serving member of the band. With an immense void left by White, the band will continue the tour with new drummer Jay Schellen who toured with Yes in 2016.
If you’re keen on catching one of the greatest rock bands of all time, you better be scoring your tickets to Yes’ show at the Wiltern. The band is guaranteed to deliver a fully-packed setlist.
