The Wiltern
The Travis “Raze The Bar” North American Tour comes to The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 28th 2025. Aye, that wee band from Scotland is back, and this time they bring something momentous to LA. Their brand-new tenth studio album, L.A. Times, produced in LA, with a cover picture, taken in LA, and the album is about... wait for it... Los Angeles!
Well, there's only one place where you really should be to hear it live then, the City of Angels, this will be beyond EPIC!!!
It's gonna be so damn hot this spring, you're gonna wish you were "Naked in New York City," maybe taking a dip in "The River." Cos that's the kinda thing that makes you feel "Alive," just hope nobody sees ya, or you're gonna end up in the "L.A. Times." Could be, you put something on, take the "Bus," "Home," and tomorrow you can "Live It All Again." - Just a few of the great new tracks you're gonna hear live!
Smash that 'get tickets' button, it's time to "Raze the Bar"!
The wee Scottish rockers Travis set out on their most extensive tour of North America since 2009. Hitting up Raleigh, NC’s The Ritz in January, plus New York, Chicago, Boston and more, including just one night in the city that gave the new album its name. On January 28th Travis will bring down the house at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. In total, the multiple BRIT Award winners will play 22 dates in U.S. and Canadian clubs and theaters.
The wee indie-rock band from Glasgow formed way back in 1990, but it wasn't until seven years later that they finally put out an album! Now, 25 years later they have a grand total of 10 studio albums, 'LA Times', their most recent release came out in July 2024.
One of the new songs from the album, “Bus,” was written, strangely enough, on a bus. Says Fran Healy, “I was on holiday, staring out the window, watching all the boats bobbing on the sea. I was trying to write a song and nothing was coming. It reminded me of all the years I spent waiting on buses. You never think it’s going to come, but if you wait long enough it usually turns up. Looking out at the sea at all the little sailing boats, I imagined all the bands and artists sitting in them, waiting on that freak gust of wind to blow them to fame and fortune. We caught a huge one in ’99, so I can testify to the random nature of it. In the middle of all these thoughts came a cool little melody, and the song was written a few minutes later.”
Soo... my wee American friends, if some feel good, Scottish pop-rock floats yer boat, then this 'ere is the gig for you. And no need to fret, with tickets starting at $68.00 it's not gonna be too dear now. If you'd kindly, give that 'Get Tickets' button a wee tap there, you'll be whisked off to Ticket Squeeze, a nice fancy online marketplace where you may safely purchase some tickets. ya Ken.
