Everyone here at The Wiltern in Los Angeles are so excited to welcome the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Humanist to the stage as they embark on a 20th Anniversary Tour for their August 2005 album Howl. Stopping at twenty five locations across North America, the tour will see the band head to New York City’s Terminal 5, The Observatory in Santa Ana, Montreal, and of course - right here on the Fault Line in Los Angeles.
The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are a rock band started in 1998 by Peter Hayes and Robert Levon Been - who met in high school in the Bay Area. The boys were inspired by legendary rockers like Led Zeppelin and other influences in the Psychedelic Rock genre, and their first two releases, Take Them On, On Your Own and Howl. While touring their first album in the U.K., they had amazing crowds turn out to all their concerts and literally almost broke the floor down at a show in West Yorkshire. By the time Howl came out, BRMC were certified rockstars - and took on their roles as leaders of the new class of Space Rockers seriously. Band break ups, freak accidents, and rocking shows were commonplace for the early 2000s crew - and the behind the scenes chaos is palpable in their sounds and later albums. Haunting hits, loud guitar riffs and independent album drops, and a lifelong legacy is stapled into the DNA of the Rebels, and there’s absolutely no telling what will go down during the 20th Anniversary Reunion Tour of Howl. But we’re so ready for it - are you?!
The Humanist is a conceptual Rock and Roll project by the mastermind behind the band Rob Marshall. Their first album only came out five years ago, but showcased the star talent of the current Rock and Roll scene across the world. Taking singers and musicians from iconic bands like a musical Frankenstein project, the group makes booming vocals, noisy and bassey soundscapes, and heart wrenching lyrics that can make anyone cry even in a crowd of pure bliss and euphoria. If you’ve never heard them before, you’ll want to catch them here at The Wiltern this October - trust us, this is an opener you just can’t miss.
So - your homework for this show. Study up the bands and pick your favorite songs, send them to your friends along with this link to tickets, and get ready to have the best time of your life! We’ll see you soon, right here at The Wiltern!
