An eccentric mix between Automator’s beats and squiggles and Daryl Palumbo’s knack for rock and punk, Head Automatica is an alternative rock band that began by bringing together two industry heavyweights: Daryl Palumbo and Dan Nakamura. While Daryl Palumbo is the frontman of Head Automatica, as well as the bands Color Film and New York City’s hardcore outfit Glassjaw, Dan Nakamura, better known by his stage name Dan the Automator, is a genre-bending, platinum selling producer, composer, engineer, and DJ who has collaborated with the legendary Gorillaz and hip hop duo Handsome Boy Modeling School.

Head Automatica’s debut album Decadence appeared on the scene in late summer 2004, and wowed audiences with its bright and trashy mix of electronics and rock & roll. Imagine dancing to tunes like “Beating Heart Baby” and “The Razor”. PURE FIRE!!

Decadence was impossible to pin down: blending elements of dance music, garage, and post-punk into 11 ostensibly poppy , yet still retaining a rock tinged edge. Citing Big Audio Dynamite, The Clash, and Primal Scream as influences, Daryl Palumbo said: “This stuff was really impactful to me. Embracing dance music, playing pop music, playing post-punk… juicing it up with production and electronics and shit.”

Their style evolved over the years as the iconic band enlisted the talents of renowned producer Howard Benson to muster up an album with a "bright, crisp sound." Issued in June 2006, this album was called Popaganda and was influenced by late seventies pop. Picture you and your buddies grooving to the genre warping tracks of Head Automatica and their ever changing style. BLISS!

The legendary band now consists of members that include Daryl Palumbo (vocalist), Larry Gorman (drummer), Jarvis Morgan Holden (bassist), Craig Bonich (guitarist), and Jessie Nelson (keyboardist). These band members are no stranger to the big stage. While Larry Gorman was the former epic drummer for Glassjaw, Craig Bonich toured with Seattle art punk band Jaguar Love as the awesome bass guitarist, and also played live with This Is Ivy League.

Now, this all star crew are taking their talents and epic skills to the iconic Wiltern Theatre. If you don’t already know, this is an incredible venue that is a 12-story landmark, located at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard in LA. The Wiltern Theatre will serve as the perfect setting for a genre-warping night of electronic rock and power pop!!

Circle your calendars, secure your tickets now and celebrate the comeback of the legendary Head Automatica in the “best street in Los Angeles”!
