Lucius is an indie pop band that formed in 2007 in Brooklyn, NYC. The Gold Rush Tour will feature twenty-six dates across America, with the final stop being at The Wiltern on November 21st. The group, made up of Jess Wolf, Holly Laessig, Dan Molad, and Peter Lalish, is known for their soft and emotional sounds and equally their fast and loud rock-reminiscent tunes, which have earned them Billboard success and critical acclaim from journalist and academy awards alike. They have worked with the entire music industry, appearing on songs with hitmakers like Dawes, The War on Drugs, The Killers, Ringo Star, and Harry Styles to name a few. They have toured the world - popping up at festivals like Desert Trip, Newport Folk Festival, and Sundance Film Fest (to perform and for a special feature or their music in the film Band Aid). Lucius might just be the greatest band you’ve never heard of, or at least The Rolling Stone might think that - and that’s why seeing them at their last stop on The Gold Rush Tour on the 21st is such a treat.
Ahead of their tour and new self titled album slated to come this Spring before they hit the road, their single Gold Rush is their ode to addictive guitar riffs, sweet love, energy and grit. Described by the group as “The roller coaster highs and lows. The sugary can’t get enough of you, can’t live with you feeling that keeps you coming back for more,”.
On their new album, Lucius describes the project as “An album for the four of us, just as we first started recording together as a band. It’s raw and honest and feels like coming home; something that resonates deeply in this moment of our lives. We are home in so many senses of the word; in the last couple of years we’ve started setting roots, finding life partners, building families, growing gardens... We wrote songs about life and relationships. We recorded them in our home studios. We saw the beginnings and endings of life cycles while making this record, the beauty and fragility of the human experience. So it’s only fitting that this album is self-titled, it’s our story, who we are now and how we got here. Welcome to our living room.”
So, a rockstar band, a hit single with a new album on the way, and a chance to see their show with personal tunes recorded in their home studios (AND at the best live venue in L.A) about real life issues - why would ever want to miss this?! Tickets are on sale and you can get yours today - right here, right now!
