Nimesh Patel is hot property right now; everyone is singing his praises, and we're sure you've already heard about the up-and-coming comedic genius by now; after all, he has been in the game for over a decade now. Just in case you haven't, here's a little to whet your appetite.
Patel was born in Morris County, New Jersey, in 1986 to immigrant parents. His parents came from the Gujarat province in India and were hard working individuals. His father started working as a check-out cashier and eventually owned and ran a convenience store.
Nimesh made the move to New York City to further his education and was accidentally introduced to comedy. He watched a show at the Comedy Cellar during his freshman year by none other than the legend, Dave Chappelle, who was performing for a very small group of 30 people.
The then-newcomer to comedy decided to make a move to standup after graduating with a finance major in 2008, which was a very difficult time for people in that industry, especially those fresh out of college.
All of that together gave him the motivation to pursue the art. During that time, he would work by day and perform by night at the Stress Factory. As time went on, his skills really improved, to the point that Chris Rock noticed him as one of the standouts at a performance in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Rock gave him a position as a writer on his team, which was hard at work preparing for the 88th Academy Awards ceremony. He took to it like a duck to water and quickly became in high demand. He wrote for Hasan Minhaj's White House Correspondents' Association Dinner appearance as well as for Saturday Night Live. For his work on SNL, Patel was even nominated for an Emmy award.
Now that a new tour is at hand, you can expect absolute fireworks as he entertains people city after city. Getting your tickets right now is a must to secure your seat when he passes through. So without wasting a single second, just click the "GET TICKETS" button and save yourself the misery of not being able to attend.
