We’re so excited to have OPN at The Wiltern on May 7th for this special experience “AGAIN” happening specifically for Los Angeles, for one night only. Daniel Lopatin’s resume is deep, and the Midwest born experimental electronic producer has been making synth-based waves that have gained him critical acclaim since the early 2000s. Since then, he has had so many collaborations and self-made films dedicated to his projects its hard to keep count - with over 10 studio albums and EPs, and film works in The Barbican Centre and MOMA PS1, it’s hard to understand how OPN has time for all the various projects he’s involved in. He’s toured with Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden, and collaborated with FKA Twigs, Rosalia, David Byrne, and Mosses Sumney. He just very well may be the greatest producer of moody, atmospheric music of our time, and that’s why catching him on May 7th at The Wiltern will be so magical, refreshing, breathtaking.
And even more fun - Lopatin will be supported by both Laraaji and Earth, two awesome and eclectic groups that will make the show that more special and monumentous. Read more about them below!
Laraaji is multi-instrumental magician, finding his groove specifically in African Mbira, the Zither, and the piano, though he has played many throughout his life and career. He rose to prominence after busking on the streets of New York City for hours on end, and has released over 40 compositions of his unique electronic based, acoustic backed sounds. He is right in line with OPN’s work, and adds a touch of warmth and reality to the night.
Earth is an American west coast psychedelic rock band that formed in the late 80s. The band has had breaks off and on throughout their career, which makes their current music feel so fresh and progressive from the other generations of their careers. Now, currently composed of Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies, the band is on a mission to show the new side of themselves and their music, but with elements of the same Earth you fell in love with in the 90s.
Wow! This line up really has a taste of everything for everyone, and you can’t go wrong with snagging a ticket for you and your Bass Buddy and Atmospheric Amy. Get your tickets here, right now, and get ready for the experience of a lifetime. See you on May 7th.
