Us here at The Wiltern - one of Los Angeles’ most iconic venues for music, performances, and stand-up comedy shows - is so excited to welcome Ramy Youssef to the stage as he takes on America for his Love Beam 7000 Tour, coming to Los Angeles on Saturday June 21st, and hitting the rest of North America from Early May to late July. With nineteen shows across the continent, hitting spots like two nights at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, The Balboa Theatre in San Diego, a night down in Atlanta, and of course - a super special night right here at The Wiltern. This show will truly be once in a lifetime - I mean, Ramy does live in New York City after all, and those guys rarely get out here. But even more importantly, Ramy is a king of the people and his heritage, and he reminds us of those two things every night that he takes the stage.
Ramy Youssef is an Egyptian-American actor, director, writer, and comedian who was born and lives in New York City. His career began back in 2009, getting his first big break when he was in high school actually. He ran a T.V. program with his friends at his secondary school, and eventually attending William Esper Studio to focus on acting before he graduated from Rutgers. He’s appeared on shows like Saturday Night Live, Stephen Colbert’s Late Night Show, the Amazon show Mr.Robot, and the 2023 smash hit film Poor Things. He has also worked with Netflix, and won two Golden Globe Awards and been nominated for a host of other awards.
And what makes Ramy so impressive and unique is not his accolades - but how he weaves his own personal heritage and upbringing into his work and comedic punchlines. And the people notice. If you check out the YouTube video we linked below, you’ll see all the amazing things his supporters say boasting about his wokeness and amazing comedy. One comment reads “I wasn't expecting to cry because of a SNL monologue, and here I am. The way Ramy talked and made his jokes was incredible, the perfect mix of irreverence and care, and that combined with the way the people cheered about the FREE PALESTINE, my eyes and my heart just couldn't help become emotional. Thanks for that, Ramy Youssef,”. Ramy is comically and critically aware of his crowd and the small things he can say that can end up moving mountains - I mean, he is a writer after all. But more than that, he’s for the people - and that’s exactly why you should come to the tour at The Wiltern this June.
So - get your tickets today, and get ready to laugh like there’s no tomorrow. We’ll see you in the crowd!
