The Wiltern
He is a consummate musical craftsman. He is a near-peerless pop composer, his songs resonating with music lovers spanning generations everywhere. He is still the winking, erudite rocker his long-time fans know and love, the musical chameleon that genre-jumps with ease. His vocal is impressive, sounding as supple as it did in 1985. He is a musical legend, an icon, and the fact of the matter is that Sting rocks hard!
Sting’s incredibly diverse catalogue spans almost every genre one can think of – from rock and jazz to new-age, classical, and even reggae - and whether you’re grooving along with “Englishman in New York”, belting out the lyrics to the musical masterpieces “Desert Rose” and “Roxanne”, dancing along to the Police-classic “Every Breath You Take”, swooning with “Shape of My Heart” and “Fields Of Gold”, or feeling inspired by “Brand New Day”, everybody knows and loves something Sting.
Sting‘s illustrious career took off as frontman, principal songwriter, and bassist for new wave band and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Police, producing a string of smash hits such as “Every Breath You Take” and "Don't Stand So Close To Me", racking up multiple awards. Sting released his debut solo album, “The Dream of the Blue Turtles”, in 1985, featuring the hit singles “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free” and “Russians”, the first of what would become an incredibly successful solo career, with 15 studio albums, various acting roles, and Broadway contributions. Sting has received numerous accolades during his career, including 25 American Music Awards, 17 Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and an induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Sting will be supported by cross-over jazz musician ELEW, known for his unconventional and physical piano playing style and covers of rock greats such as “(I Can Get No) Satisfaction”, “Zombie”, “Going Under”, and “Sweet Home Alabama”.
The Wiltern is no stranger to world-class acts and is ready to have Sting shake things up a bit. With its state-of-the-art sound, fantastic sightlines, and 4,000 seats spread across the floor level, loge, and mezzanine, there is not a bad seat in the house!
It is undeniable: STING 3.0 is a concert that will be spoken about for many years to come, so get your tickets!
