If you’re tired of the run-of-the-mill stand-up comedy shows, then may be this can be a great change of pace for you. Joe Santagato and Frank Alvarez are bringing their Basement Yard Experience Live show to The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Friday, the 2nd August 2024. This experience includes a ton of improv and wacky ideas that the duo is going to try and execute on stage. In fact, it’s one of those shows where if you want to be a part of the madness, you’ll want to sit close to the stage. They’ve been known to call on audience members to come up and try some weird foods or take part in some “experiment” that they’re running. Expect plenty of those shenanigans on this Friday night in LA.

The Basement Yard Experience has gained a ton of popularity through the podcast and the social media clips the duo regularly uploads. The Basement Yard Experience

The Wiltern

It wasn’t until this year that the Basement Yard Experience guys started to do live shows. That’s actually great news for anyone who’s headed to the Wiltern on Friday, August 2nd. This run is still very much a testing ground to see what live audiences actually respond to. They probably have their numbers on YouTube or even the podcast to fall back on to see which ones of their bits people enjoy the most. It’s one thing to watch a video while you’re sitting at your desk at work, and another is to go see one of these shows live. Naturally, when it’s live, people are going to be expecting more of a wow factor, not just these dudes testing out sodas! Plus, it’s LA so they’ll be itching to show out for the crowd.

The show is likely going to be split into different parts. They also bring the podcast vibe along with them. Therefore, what they’ll do for part of the performance is just sit down and interact with the audience, trying to share all sorts of wacky ideas. They may bring up weird topics, particularly something around scary or conspiracy stories. Those bits are common and popular in their podcasting. In a sense, the live show is meant to be a full combination of all the different types of content that they’ve been putting out for years. People have responded very well! Recently, one of their shows in Atlantic City sold out in a matter of minutes.

Knowing that these shows are in high demand, you’ll want to get your tickets as soon as possible. Seats at The Wiltern are known for being comfortable, and pretty much all of the sections provide a decent view of the stage. If you’re fine with sitting anywhere on this night and potentially missing out on that audience participation, it’s your decision. There’s one thing that The Wiltern doesn’t have, though: overflowing capacity. There are a total of 1,875 seats that will likely sell out. You know what you need to do if you don’t want to miss this. Click the get tickets button to save yourself a spot.
