Us here at The Wiltern in L.A. are SO excited to welcome The Fray back to the stage for their How To Save A Life 20th Anniversary Tour, taking place on Saturday August 23rd and Sunday August 24th right here in Southern California. And just on the heels of their latest comeback EP released last September, The Fray Is Back, The Fray is indeed back and ready to give us a dose of contemporary, heart thumping nostalgia. With twenty dates planned across America and another twenty in select locations around the globe - the boys in the group are trying to cement their hold on the next generation this summer, and they just might be able to pull it off with a tour this expansive and with many sold out dates already.
You’ve heard of The Fray before - we know you have! So we’ll make this description a refresher for those who haven’t heard their name or their music in the last decade or two. The Fray, the ever iconic rock band from Denver, formed in 2002 by classmates and future band members Isaac Slade and Joe King. Their debut album was actually How To Save A Life, and it saw the group propel into stardom like few have ever seen before. The record went platinum in multiple countries across the world - including quadruple platinum right here in the U.S. Their second album was self titled, and debuted at number 1 on The Billboard 200 when it was released in 2009. Though they had many ups and downs throughout the years - their critical reception has always been positive, and it's just facts that their long lasting impact as something hard to recreate. They are described as cinematic, ethereal, introspective, and angsty, and they were ranked one of Billboard’s Artist of The Decade back in the 2000s. The Fray have a legacy most artists would die for - and now, they enjoy touring as they please - which is what makes the twenty year anniversary tour oh so special for all of us fans.
SO - let’s be honest - you know you won’t want to miss this tour, and your friends don’t want to either! So hit them up, send them the link to the tickets, and let’s have the 2000s indie sleaze night of our dreams. We can’t wait and we’ll see you soon!
